By joining this 9-day, 8-night adventure, you will directly support ASICAMPE's groundbreaking archaeological research at Huaca Montegrande, a 6,000-year-old spiral-shaped temple that is reshaping our understanding of Amazonian cultures and the origin of cacao.

Where our journey unfolds

We begin our journey in Northern Peru. You will first fly to Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, then take a connecting flight to start this life-changing experience. If needed, we can help you book your domestic flight. We encourage you to spend one restful night in Lima before flying to Northern Peru, a gentle pause before stepping into the magic of the retreat.

The journey

Our main retreat home will be Mamaq Tambo Lodge in Cocachimba, Amazonas - a peaceful sanctuary embraced by lush nature, where the majestic Gocta Waterfall greets you each morning.

Here you will start your days with nourishing breakfasts with local ingredients, visit the bird sanctuary, take workshops on traditional practices with local artisans, learn from renowned researchers, and place your feet, and your spirit, into the powerful waters of both small and towering waterfalls. You will sit in meditative silence, walk in ceremony to sacred lands, replenish your body, and reclaim your inner feminine power. By nightfall we will gather around the fire, sharing once more sacred cacao circles made with fresh Amazonian cacao.

This retreat takes us to extraordinary places such as Huaca Montegrande, a 6,000-year-old spiral-shaped temple that reshapes our understanding of cacao’s origins and the emergence of Amazonian civilizations - an encounter where science, spirituality, and ancestral wisdom meet. We will also explore Don Oscar’s bountiful organic cacao farm in Jaén, Cajamarca; the Kuelap Archaeological Site, a magnificent pre-Inca fortress often called the Machu Picchu of Northern Peru; the breathtaking Sonche Canyon; and the traditional ceramic community of Huancas, where women have shaped clay since pre-Columbian times, in Amazonas.

We will also immerse ourselves in workshops and heartfelt conversations. We will laugh, dance, wander among cacao trees, and offer gratitude and gifts to Pachamama. We'll learn to craft our own ceremonial cacao drink straight from the cacao seed. We'll also make chocolate, discover medicinal plants from the garden, enjoy a soothing sauna, remember how to care for our skin with nature’s abundance, and so much more.

This is not a touristic experience. It is a life-transformational retreat for women in times of change, growth, and evolution. Whether you already have a relationship with cacao or are just beginning, this journey invites you to be fully present with yourself, to reset, realign, and allow meaningful moments to guide you back to your true path.
